My work is an investigation into the role of mass produced popular imagery in the construction of female identities. I utilize live performance, moving images, and repetition to deconstruct persistent ideals for feminine behavior and construct new possibilities for feminine expression.
I am interested in the learned and rehearsed behaviors that form socially accepted expressions of gender. I aim to manipulate the process of learning to perform gender in order to question broadly the role images have in shaping attitudes toward feminine identities.
